My first memory of green spaces was growing up in Poland in a small flat and the only green space I had to play with a set of willow trees behind the flats. it gave me a place to use my imagination and develop as a child.
I believe that green spaces are important for the city because they can maintain populations of species such as birds and small animals and allows some biodiversity within city spaces and directly addressed climate change issues.
Things like flooding and parks can stop rainwater from building up and reaching housing.
We should think of nature not as what has been left behind by development but something we can integrate into the future and proposals.
Working with nature rather than nature being separate from how we live and what we do in cities.
