I live near Dawberry Fields. My son calls it 'his park', we play there, we picnic there, we pick up litter. We play on the swings, and slide, climb on the frames.
He learnt to ride his bike there at 2 and a half! No stabilisers!! We play catch, chase, tag, hide and seek. We rescue worms and slugs from being stomped on the path.
We built his first ever snowperson there and a load of snow castles (a bit like sandcastles but with snow).
Sometimes we play in the skatepark... now that he's 3 my son considers himself an expert at most things! A threenager they say. We love our park.
One day the stream will flow free, and the brambles will be cut back and the entrance will look inviting and we'll share it with more people.
